    Lack of Hell Dorado

Here it is, folks, in all it's crap-tastic glory.

    Hello Tom,

Unfortunately we don’t want to distribute our Helldorado line in North America right now. We feel the mature content in our books and the mature aspect of some of our miniatures may cause trouble in Canada and in the USA.

You can address your order to Simple Miniature Games, our distributor in the UK if you already have some order. I’ll let you know as soon as we plan to sell Helldorado in North America.

    And here is my reply.

    Alexis,

This is truly unfortunate. I can say that I would speak for several Canadians, particularly gamers in and from around Edmonton, when I say it is ridiculous to be "babied" in this manner. Of course, being of North American descent, I have grown used to it.

    Again, truly unfortunate.

That's retarded. I guess we'll have to play games that won't offend our delicate sensibilities, like Spinespur...

I actually thought (after I'd hit the "Send" button on the email) of providing links to those games that may be detrimental to our delicate psychies... Spinespur, Wyrd, Dark Age...

    Friggin' France...

what a load of bs, they probably just do not want to waste their time on trying to ship to North America.

I wouldn't be blaming the French, I'd be blaming Christianity.  I can just picture all the bible-thumper whackjob Americans up in arms about the game.  After all it's got "Hell" in the title.  Look at 4th Ed. D&D and it's "good" slant.  It's enough to make me puke.  I'll chalk this up on my Why-I-Hate-Christianity list.

Christianity is hardly a North American thing. It was in europe long before it came here.

Lets leave Religious bashing out of the forums please.
I can respect you if you don't believe in the same things as me But I can not respect you if decide to attack mine especially with ignorance.

Let's keep it cool, guys. We're all friends here, and I'm sure that nothing was meant as a personal insult to anyone (my "Friggin' French" included).

Besides, if we need to, we can always blame it on the Ukranians (I'll shoulder the blame without much complaint).

That's only because you know the Bard will let the monkey out of the bottle if you bash the french too much more...

No offense intended Fenris.  Just my opinion.  Religion tends to bring out the worst in me.  I apologize if I've offended you.

    Re: Lack of Hell Dorado

My bet is that e-mail was just a weak excuse to hide the real reason. I think they are just nervous about the possible production increase if they started shipping to North America. If the game takes off here, they might not be able to keep up. Look at what happened with Confrontation when it first hit the shores here.
