SCHEDULE:

The points level brackets are as follows.

400-point lists – January 19th to February 8th – (January 19th community day)

475-point lists – February 8th to March 1st – (community day tbd)

550-point lists – March 2nd to March 22rd – (community day tbd)

650- point lists – March 23rd to April 12th – (community day tbd)

750-points lists – April 13th to May 4th – (community day tbd, likely May 4th, 2024)

The only requirement is that your game at any given points level gets played at any time within these dates. There will be one “community day” a month for the league members to meet up and for players to get in games with whomever they want (or their monthly matchup). If you do not or cannot play your monthly matchup on the “community day” for a variety of reasons it will be on you to schedule a game on your own time with your opponent. Matchups not played will be issued a 6-0 loss to the person who is unable to schedule the given matchup.

LIST BUILDING:

To start, Players will need to construct 400-point list for their chosen faction. Then a 475-point list, then a 550 point-list, then a 650-point list and finishing with A 750-point list.
List Submissions must be submitted to edmontonmesbgslowgrow@gmail.com 2 days prior to the start of the points level’s given play window.

SCORING:

League Points can be earned in the following ways:

-5 League Points for a major victory (the player wins the game with double or more victory points than their opponent with a minimum of 4 victory points).
-4 League Points for a minor victory (the player wins the game without scoring double or more victory points than their opponent).
-2 League Points for a draw (the players have equal victory points).
-1 League Point for a minor loss (the player has less victory points than their opponent, but their opponent did not double their score).
-1 League Point for a painted army per month (a painted army is one where every model has all its main areas colored and contains at least 3 colors) - this point will be submitted to the League organizer by your opponent.
-1 League Point for a based army per month (a based army is one where every model’s base has something aside from the black default base -> sand, grass, etc.) - this point will be submitted to the League organizer by your opponent.

Players are ranked according to their League Points. The more League Points a player has, the higher their ranking. Where players are tied in the number of league points, ties are broken in this order:

1) Win-Loss Record
2) VP Differential
3) Total VPs Scored
4) Minimum VPs Surrendered
5) Strength of Schedule (Cumulative Opponent Win-Loss, VP Differential, VPs Scored)
6) Hobby Score (Painted/Based each round)
7) A roll-off

* A minimum of 0 League Points and a maximum of 7 League Points may be earned in each month.

** Match scores will be submitted to the league organizer to input into the Longshanks system where the winner will submit the game score.

Player behavior is imperative. This is a league for new players and veterans alike, and unsportsmanlike conduct and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. At the end of the day, this league has two purposes: to grow the local MESBG community, and to allow players a chance to have fun! Sometimes, one player might run away with the game, whether due to excellent play or lucky rolls. Sometimes, you may find yourself entirely outclassed, or entirely outclassing your opponent! In any case, the point is to have fun, and all players are expected to show good conduct and sportsmanship in all aspects of the league. Players are expected to treat others with respect and behave in a mature and considerate manner, including during any rule disputes.
